At Coláiste Naomh Cormac, we are committed to fostering strong numeracy skills across all subjects and grade levels. Numeracy, which extends beyond mathematics, is a crucial skill that supports students in their everyday lives, enabling them to approach problem-solving and data analysis with confidence.

As part of our School Self-Evaluation (SSE) process, we continually assess and enhance our numeracy strategies to ensure every student develops the mathematical skills necessary to succeed in modern life and in their academic endeavors.

Numeracy Targets 

1. Increase Students’ Knowledge and Understanding of Maths Terminology
   One of our core aims is to improve students’ familiarity with mathematical vocabulary. By focusing on key terms, we help students become more comfortable with the language of mathematics, enabling them to approach complex concepts with greater confidence.

2. Enhance Students’ Understanding of Exam Question Vocabulary
   Understanding the language used in exam questions is essential for success. We are committed to improving students’ comprehension of exam-specific vocabulary, helping them to better interpret questions and apply their knowledge effectively during assessments.
