Coláiste Naomh Cormac Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence
Our school proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary, we acknowledged the contribution of all who made it possible to provide a first class education to the young people of Kilcormac and its surrounding areas for over 50 years. A series of events took place throughout 2021/ 2022 to celebrate 50 years of excellence in teaching and learning.
The first of these events was a planned fundraiser “50KM for 50 Years” culminating with the final 2km in the Faithful Fields on the afternoon of the 22nd Oct 2021. Each student in the school walked to the Faithful Fields (The Offaly GAA Centre of Excellence) and walked the 2kms in unity.
A past alumni Facebook page has been set up by our hardworking Parents’ Association and we look forward to renewing acquaintances with past students and staff.
The 6th year Music students composed a new anthem celebrating the 50 years of history in the school and a recording of the song with accompanying photographs, chronicling the school’s 50 years can be found on the school YouTube channel. The original music was composed by E. Callaghan and lyrics were composed by N. Mahon both 6th year students 2021/22. The 6th year music class perform the full piece. The 6th year music class (2021/22) performed the full piece.
A community gathering of present and past students along with the local community was held on 30th September 2022. Coláiste Naomh Cormac looks forward to another fruitful 50 years as a centre of excellence in education for our community.
