Wellbeing week in CNC Kilcormac

As part of Wellbeing Week pupils gathered in the school gym to meet the Army band (Band 2 Brigade:Athlone). It was an uplifting experience led by Captain Thomas Kelly. Pupils and staff were educated on the instruments and work of the Army Band. There was a great sense of pride and community as the whole school community sang ‘Ireland’s Call’ accompanied by the band. The repertoire performed was fun and modern and the pupils enjoyed the relaxing break from the books.
After the band’s performance the music students were given the opportunity to talk to musicians about their instruments and their work in the band. The students were thankful for this unique experience of learning and how generous the band were with their time.
We thank the Healthy Schools Committee for organising the Wellbeing week and giving the whole school the opportunity to have some time away to reflect and relax.
